What we have learned about this county

Three of the county's highest-volume destinations share a single Lakewood block. St. Anthony Hospital (11600 W 2nd Pl), OrthoColorado Hospital (11650 W 2nd Pl) and DaVita West Lakewood Dialysis (11700 W 2nd Pl, Suite 325) all sit on the W 2nd Place loop off S Union Blvd. A hospital discharge and a dialysis pickup can be sequenced without leaving the campus. The constraints on that loop are real and specific: valet runs weekdays 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. only, the main lobby locks at 9 p.m. and every later arrival is routed through the emergency department entrance, and from 17 March 2026 every non-staff adult must stop at a security check-in station, including between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Lutheran Hospital is no longer where much of the paperwork still says it is. Intermountain's own location page gives the hospital as 12911 W 40th Ave in Wheat Ridge, while the federal CMS hospital file still lists it at the legacy 8300 W 38th Ave campus in central Wheat Ridge. When the government's own dataset is stale, discharge packets, facility contact sheets and in-car navigation are worse. Drivers should confirm the destination is the W 40th Avenue campus, and note that the emergency entrance there faces Lot E rather than sitting beside the main door.
The mountain half of Jefferson County has no hospital and not one dialysis chair. Every dialysis facility certified in this county — eleven of them — is on the plains, in Lakewood, Arvada, Wheat Ridge or the Littleton-addressed south end. Evergreen, Conifer, Bergen Park, Kittredge, Indian Hills and Idledale have primary and urgent care only, such as CommonSpirit Primary Care Evergreen at 32214 Ellingwood Trail, Suite 210. The county's only Level I trauma centre, St. Anthony, is down the hill in Lakewood. That means every foothills dialysis patient descends and re-climbs three times a week, all year, and every foothills emergency leaves the mountains entirely.

Free parking 24 hours a day in the main lot and adjacent areas. Free valet Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. only. Beginning 17 March 2026 all non-staff aged 18 and over entering through any entrance must check in with security or a trained team member, including all after-hours entries between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.; a government photo ID is requested and a temporary badge issued, and anyone who leaves and returns must check in again. Allow extra dwell time on evening pickups. Campus is on the W 2nd Place loop off S Union Blvd.
OrthoColorado HospitalLakewood · 11650 W 2nd Pl, Lakewood, CO 80228Orthopaedic and spine specialty hospital, 48 licensed beds and 8 surgical suites per CommonSpirit's own page, opened 2010. Sits on the St. Anthony medical campus and shares the same W 2nd Place loop. The street number differs from St. Anthony's by 50, so confirm which building the patient is in before dispatch.
Intermountain Health Lutheran HospitalWheat Ridge · 12911 W 40th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO (ZIP not stated on the operator's page)Intermountain's own location page gives this address, phone 303-425-4500, visiting hours 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., and states the emergency entrance is 'across from Lot E'. The CMS hospital file still carries the legacy address 8300 W 38th Ave, Wheat Ridge 80033, which is a live illustration of the problem: discharge paperwork, facility contact sheets and stale navigation data still route drivers to the old central Wheat Ridge campus rather than the current site.
Panorama Orthopedics & Spine Center - GoldenGolden · 660 Golden Ridge Rd, Suite 250, Golden, CO 80401Not a hospital but a large orthopaedic campus and a heavy generator of post-op and follow-up rides. Per Panorama's own site it is a 60,000 sq ft medical building situated on Golden Ridge, off 6th Avenue (US 6), housing the Golden Ridge Surgery Center, imaging with x-ray and MRI, physical and occupational therapy and an orthopaedic supply store. The ridge-top siting means a graded approach off the highway rather than a street-level entrance.
